The Chemical Products Business Unit produces a comprehensive range of precious metal compounds for industrial requirements. Organometallics and homogeneous catalysts are manufactured on a commercial scale as well as inorganic compounds and solutions on the basis of the platinum group metals, gold, silver, and rhenium.
The products are used worldwide in key technologies of various branches of industry such as the chemical, petrochemical, automotive and pharmaceutical industries, surface technology, electronics and jewellery. Amongst the established range are solutions containing precious metals for the coating of supports both in exhaust catalysts and also in the stationary and automotive fields as well as in process catalysts.
Complex homogeneous catalysts, e. g. for the oxo alcohol and acetic acid synthesis and also for the manufacture of liquid crystals and silicones belong to the core business.
